Overview of IGF-1 DES

IGF-1 DES is a 67-amino acid version of the IGF-1 molecule. While the “Long R3” version of IGF-1 is designed for a long systemic half-life, IGF-1 DES is designed for high-intensity, localized activity. Because it does not bind to IGFBPs, it is immediately “bioavailable” to the IGF-1 receptors (IGF-1R). This lack of binding proteins, combined with a very short half-life (approximately 20–30 minutes), makes it the primary subject for researchers studying localized cellular responses and the “pump” effect in musculoskeletal tissues.
